Quick Reference Guide for Classroom Use

Access Senso: https://app.senso.cloud

? Log In

  1. Open https://app.senso.cloud
  2. Sign in with your school Microsoft 365 account
  3. Your teaching groups/classes load automatically

You will only see student devices assigned to you.

?️ View Student Screens

  • Select your class on the left
  • Live thumbnails of each student appear
  • Click a thumbnail to enlarge, zoom, or refresh

Great for checking:

  • Off‑task behaviour
  • YouTube/games
  • Incorrect tabs
  • Slow progress
  • Student issues

? Message Students

Use for quick reminders or support.

How to:

  1. Select student(s)
  2. Click Message
  3. Type your message
  4. Choose popup or overlay

Examples:

  • “Return to Teams please.”
  • “Check your microphone.”
  • “Focus on the current task.”

? Lock Screens

Use to get attention instantly.

How to:

  1. Select student(s)
  2. Click Lock
  3. Students cannot use their device until you unlock

Unlock:

  • Click Unlock

? Block / Allow Websites

Useful for keeping students on task.

Block a site:

  1. Select student(s)
  2. Click Web Block
  3. Add the URL

Allow a site:

  1. Select student(s)
  2. Click Allow Website
  3. Add the URL

Note: Permanent filtering is done by ICT using Lightspeed.
Teacher blocks are temporary and lesson‑only.

? Useful Classroom Tools

✔ Redirect URL

Send a website to all selected students immediately.
Great for pushing:

  • Teams meeting links
  • Learning platforms
  • Resources

✔ Close Website / Close Tabs

Shut down distracting sites like gaming, social media, YouTube (if misused).

✔ Screenshot

Capture what a student is doing on screen.

✔ Broadcast Teacher Screen

Show your screen to all students (if enabled).

✔ Launch Application

Open a specific app on student devices (if enabled by ICT).

?‍? Managing Classes

  • Classes sync automatically from MIS/Teams
  • Teachers cannot create/delete classes
  • If something is missing, contact ICT

?️ Safeguarding Alerts (Teacher View)

Senso may show alerts for:

  • Self‑harm indicators
  • Bullying
  • Inappropriate searches
  • Violent/extremist content
  • Unsafe behaviour

Your responsibilities:

✔ Check the alert
✔ Report concerns to your Safeguarding Lead
✔ Record where appropriate

You cannot:

  • See alerts for students outside your classes
  • Disable or modify monitoring
  • Change safeguarding settings

? Troubleshooting (Quick Fixes)

❗ Student device not showing

  • Refresh the page
  • Ask the student to restart their device
  • Ensure they’re logged into the school account

❗ No live screen thumbnails

  • Student may have lost WiFi
  • Device may be off
  • The app may not be running (ICT can fix)

❗ Tools not working

  • Refresh Senso
  • Reopen the class
  • Try a different browser (Edge recommended)

❗ Class missing

  • Contact ICT (MIS sync issue)
