Summary

This guide shows you how to install Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and more) on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. It also explains how to access the web‑based versions if you prefer not to install the apps.

Who is this for?

All staff and students with an active Microsoft 365 licence.


? Option 1 — Install Microsoft 365 Apps on Windows (PC/Laptop)

  1. Go to https://www.office.com
  2. Sign in using your school email address
  3. Click Install Office (top-right)
  4. Select Microsoft 365 apps
  5. Run the installer file that downloads
  6. Follow the on‑screen prompts
  7. Once installed, open any Office app and sign in to activate

Troubleshooting (Windows)

  • If you don’t see Install Office, your licence may not include Office — raise an ICT ticket
  • If the installer freezes, restart your computer and try again

? Option 2 — Install Microsoft 365 Apps on macOS (MacBook/iMac)

  1. Go to https://www.office.com
  2. Sign in with your school account
  3. Click Install Office
  4. Choose Microsoft 365 apps (Mac version)
  5. Open the downloaded .pkg file
  6. Follow installation steps
  7. Launch Word/Excel/PowerPoint and sign in to activate

Troubleshooting (macOS)

  • If macOS blocks installation, go to:
    System Settings → Privacy & Security → Allow
  • Restart the Mac if apps do not register your licence

? Option 3 — Install Microsoft 365 Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)

You can install Office apps on your phone or tablet to work on the go.

iPhone / iPad (iOS)

Open the App Store and search for:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Teams
  • OneDrive

Tap Get to install each app you need.

Android (Google Play Store)

Open Google Play and search for:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Teams
  • OneDrive

Tap Install on the apps you want.

Activate Your Apps

Open the app → sign in with your school email → you’re ready to go.


? Option 4 — Use Microsoft 365 Web Apps (No Installation Required)

If you are unable to install apps or are using a shared/public computer, use the web apps:

Go to: https://www.office.com

From there you can open:

  • Outlook (Mail)
  • Word Online
  • Excel Online
  • PowerPoint Online
  • OneNote Online
  • Teams (browser version)

  • No installation needed
  • Accessible from any device
  • Your files save automatically in OneDrive
